But First There is Love

How does one begin to write about the love of the Father? Not in an analyzing or reporting way; not even in descriptive tones that reveal His character, but in a manner that effectively generates awe and wonder, comfort and the further awakening of a spiritual knowing that creates the true, strong, life-giving relationship He desires for us and we desire with Him.

From Genesis to Revelation our Abba’s love for you is on display. See what His letter of love reveals to you about His love for you. Take each one personally and let each message build within your heart and your outlook today a renewed awareness of how precious you are to Him.

…Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued my faithfulness to you. (Jeremiah 31:3)

It is the character of our Father to comfort and ease Himself as He earnestly remembers and fulfills the covenant He has made with us (Psalm 106:45). He tells us that about Himself to comfort and ease us in our daily lives.

Casting the whole of your care {all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all} on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (I Peter 5:7)

That Scripture alone is cause for joyful praise and a faith confidence that pleases our Father and ignites your spirit! In tune with the Holy Spirit we stand in faith upon the Truths of Scripture that He brings to our remembrance. (Take care here! We have a role to play. God’s Word is absolute Truth and forever settled (Psalm 119:89). The Holy Spirit can remind, but we must believe.)

You are His beloved child. Your Father is the Blesser of His kids! He blesses you with peace (Psalm 29:11), inward and outward tranquility (Proverbs 3:1-2), prosperity and health (Psalm 35:27, 1 Peter 2:24), watchful care (1 Peter 5:7), guidance for your path and your life’s purpose (Isaiah 30:21), forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14), His marvelous indwelling Holy Spirit ( John 16:13), spiritual tools to defeat the enemy (2Corinthians 10:4-5), and His powerful, alive and active Word (Hebrews 4:12). His love for you and me is the defining standard of our relationship. He died so that we might live in His love (Romans 5:8). We, as children of our Abba were:

…bought with a price {purchased with a preciousness and paid for by Christ}. (1 Corinthians 7:23)

Let each of these Scriptures redefine who you are in your own eyes; let them lift and carry you into the fullness of who you are in Christ. We are so very loved!

See what {an incredible} quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should {be permitted to} be named and called and counted the children of God… (1 John 3:1)

Be Careful How You Listen- Part Two

Choosing to remain fixed within an established frame of reference, a comfortable and familiar doctrine, a view of God and the world you have come to regard as reality – you were raised up in it, those you regard with respect taught and lived it, you would not exert energy questioning it but you might exert energy defending and preserving it – certainly limits God in getting the blessings to you!

How do you receive these statements:

– “Some people defend vehemently their right to be sick!” {And yet God’s Word holds up for us the standard of our Abba as Healer – Jehovah Rapha (Exodus 15:26).} (See other entries in the blog associated with healing)

– “Well, you never know what God is going to do.” {And yet the Word assures us that the deep, intimate,”profound and bottomless things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10) are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit (John 16:13), including things to come.

– “Why do bad things happen to good people?” {And yet God’s Word teaches that our Abba wants only to do us good (Psalm 145:8-9) and that salvation through Jesus includes health, prosperity, peace, and freedom from agitating conflicts, distresses and fears (2 Peter 3:14).

– “God is teaching me how to cope with this illness. I shine for Him through it.” {And yet that illness is not from God Whose promise of overflowing, abundant life is for all of His children who stand on His Word in faith for its manifestation (John10:10).

-“I am always so fearful about what might happen.” (And yet God says that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and He has not given us a spirit of fear, which is a spirit of bondage (Romans 8:15, 2Timothy 1:7).

When we give greater weight to the “religion” we have been taught than to our Father’s Word we create a life going forward disabled by ignorance, partially or totally compromised, and encumbered by misconceptions that lead to unnecessary troubles.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you {the priestly nation} have rejected knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)

…So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers) you have set aside the Word of God {depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect}. These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrine the commands of men. (Matthew 15:6, 8-9)
